Indicator Phrasing

English: Percentage of (former) parties in conflict declaring that they are satisfied with the resolution process, disaggregated by type of conflict resolution mechanism and type of conflict

French: Pourcentage des (anciennes) parties au conflit se déclarant satisfaites du processus de résolution, ventilé par type de mécanisme de résolution des conflits et par type de conflit

What is its purpose?

Having a more qualitative measurement of the way the conflict resolution mechanisms are appreciated by persons having their conflict mediated by these structures (e.g. peace committees, elders, faith leaders, formal justice providers etc)

How to Collect and Analyse the Required Data

Two options:

  • Through interviews with (former) parties in conflict asking about their experience with the mediation process, and whether they are satisfied with the process.
  • Through using a Likert scale, asking the level of satisfaction of (former) parties in conflict concerning the conflict mediation process through specific conflict resolution mechanisms (alternative dispute resolution process, formal justice providers, depending on project intervention), giving the response option: Very dissatisfied - Dissatisfied - Satisfied - Very satisfied. The question should also ask for the specific type of conflict resolved.
