Perception of Disaster Preparedness

The indicator identifies the extent to which the target population feels prepared to face a specific climate hazard. Theoretically, the more prepared people are, the less vulnerable they should feel. It is an important indicator of a climate adaptation or climate resilience intervention’s outcome.

Collect the following data by conducting individual interviews with a representative sample of your target household members:

To calculate the indicator's value, divide the number of respondents reporting being “somewhat prepared” and “well prepared” by the total number of respondents (exclude those whose answer was "does not know"). Multiply the result by 100 to convert it to a percentage.

Dissagregate the data by gender, age group or a specific vulnerable group.
