Indicator Phrasing

English: Percentage of land conflicts addressed to local alternative dispute resolution (ADR) structure that has been resolved, disaggregated by sex and type of land conflict

French: Pourcentage de conflits fonciers adressés à une structure locale de résolution alternative des conflits (ADR) qui ont été résolus, ventilé par sexe et par type de conflit foncier.

What is its purpose?

Measuring the land conflict resolution rate of alternative dispute resolution structures by comparing the total number of land conflicts addressed to the ADR structure with the number of those conflict that have been resolved by the ADR structure. Disaggregating the data by type of land conflict will give insight in whether there are certain types of land conflicts that have a low or high resolution rate through ADR.

How to Collect and Analyse the Required Data

Monitoring sheet to be kept by the ADR structure itself, logging all land confilcts that are being addressed to them and tracking which conflicts are:

  • awaiting mediation
  • in process of mediation
  • resolved through mediation
  • not resolved through mediation (and then referred to ....)

To calculate the resolution rate : The number of resolved land conflicts through mediation divided by the total number of land conflicts addressed to the ADR structure x100%.

Disaggregate by

Sex

Type of land conflict
